SHIUNSO is a Japanese inn in a true traditional style. Located 5 minutes from hakone yumoto station by bus or tonosawa station on foot. The very-big rock at the entrance is a famous symbol of HAKONE-TONOSAWA from the EDO-period, in front of which you have an appeasing view on the river and the bamboo hill, right next to the lobby. In the guest room, you can feel what Japanese call wabi, a sense of quiet simplicity, partly due to the somewhat nostalgic tatami flooring. Listen to the burbling of the stream and enjoy the summer greenery and beautiful colored leaves of autumn from terrace seats with a cypress scent. All our guest rooms use tatami mats to create a relaxing feeling as they provide a very comfortable touch.

HAKONE TONOSAWA HOT SPRING BATH
We have 3 types of hot spring bath, especially private outside bath is most prefered.
Tonosawa Hot Spring was opend some 300 years ago. Transparent hot water constantly gushes from under the ground through crystals in the granite. HAKONE Hot Spring is one of the most famous hot springs in Japan
Bathing in the hot spring is effective for Muscle ache, neuralgia, stiff shoulders, sprain , fatigue recovery, burns, chronic skin disease feminine ailment.

Our Head Chef goes to TUKIJI market to get fresh seasonal seafood by himself everymorning.
He was trained at famous SUSHI and SOBA restaurants in the high-end area of GINZA, Tokyo. Fully enjoy the artisan skills, such as the dishware made from bamboo which is grown on the hotel grounds.
Our japanese full course meals are served in each room as one–table–one–menu philosophy. But, each Guest is Unique, therefore the relationship between a guest and a chef is too a unique one. As much as possible, we will try to consider special conditions as, say, vegetarianism, allergy, or simply personal taste disliking some food.
Please e-mail us in advance if there is anything you cannot eat (English only). We can also prepare a vegetarian menu and western style breakfast.
